Custom Token in Local setup

I downloaded the repo of a chain built using cosmos sdk and created a genesis transaction with a new wallet and 1000000000stake. Thr chain is running locally. I was able to stake the “stake” tokens too. I am trying to add another custom token to the system and transfer some into the address. Can somebody guide me to the solution?
