Theta-testnet-001 will be deprecated as of Dec 1, 2024

tl;dr we’re shutting down `theta-testnet-001` on December 1, 2024. Please move all Hub testnet operations to `provider` using resources in this repo . The Cosmos Hub currently has two public testnets: • `theta-testnet-001` (“release” testnet) • `provider` (“Interchain Security” testnet) Since `provider` launched on 2023-02-02, it has been the Hub’s main persistent testnet for Interchain Security, hosting ~20 consumer chain testnets and running weekly events for validator education. On December 1, 2024 , Hypha will be shutting down `theta-testnet-001`. • Hypha whale validators (earth , water , wind , fire ) will unbond and come offline • `theta` validators are encouraged to take down their infrastructure • The faucet for `theta` testnet ATOM will be turned off • The chain registry entry for `theta` (currently under the directory `cosmoshubtestnet`) will be renamed to `cosmoshubtestnet2` and no longer updated) Validators, integrators, and networks connected to `theta` should switch to `provider`, the Hub’s persistent ICS testnet, using the following resources: • Repo (contains info on endpoints, faucet, block explorers) • Chain registry entry • Mega…
