[DISCUSSION] Onboarding, managing, offboarding the AEZ. A set of draft propositions

Summary This post presents the results of the first session of the Cosmos Citizens’ Assembly. The question asked to the participants was: What process and principles should drive adding and removing chains to the Atom Economic Zone (AEZ)? The text is the product of the discussions of the group and was adopted by consensus. It presents a set of draft recommendations to be discussed with the community. After a phase of feedback of circa 3 weeks, this text will be transformed into a final set of recommendations during a second session of work. In the coming days, we will publish a second post focusing on the process which led to these results. The second post will detail the work done by Missions Publiques and RnDAO to prepare and implement the first part of the Cosmos Citizens’ Assembly. I am writing this testimonial to express my satisfaction and appreciation for my participation in the Cosmos Citizen Assembly, focusing on the AEZ. While it required a considerable time investment, I can confidently say that the experience was worth it. The assembly provided a unique platform for knowledge sharing, allowing us to engage in discussions and confront different perspectives. The diversity of opinions not only made the conversations interesting but also led to the development of a comprehensive first report. This collaborative approach ensured that we considered various viewpoints and ultimately contributed to a richer understanding of the AEZ onboarding process. One of the highlights of the assembly was the opportunity to receive introductions to different subjects from individuals actively working on those areas. These insights were very interesting, and I realized that I would not have gained such knowledge without participating in this assembly. This contribution is incredibly valuable. It should really be considered as a reference guideline. We sincerely hope every consumer chain candidate will consider this as the basic framework to use before considering a pre-proposal for ICS. We have been supportive of the Cosmos citizens assembly for a long time and we are sincerely honored to have them among hub’s contributors. Their work is heavily underestimated in our humble opinion.

I’m pleased to share my positive experience with the Cosmos Citizen Assembly, specifically focusing on the AEZ. Despite the substantial time commitment, the assembly proved worthwhile.

It served as a unique platform for diverse discussions and knowledge sharing, resulting in a comprehensive first report. Exposure to various perspectives and subjects enriched my understanding, and insights from active contributors were particularly valuable.

The assembly fosters a strong Cosmos community, potentially transforming regular participants into engaged members. I advocate for exploring the concept further, as it not only educates participants but also cultivates dedicated contributors to the project.

My Cosmos Citizen Assembly experience was pretty interesting. I eagerly anticipate the impact of our collective efforts on the AEZ within Cosmos and look forward to the initiative’s continued success.
